Choosing Your First Camping Tent

To begin, I was never into the concept of camping. The idea of sleeping in a tent on the cold ground didn’t appeal to me. However, some of my friends would go camping every year and swear they loved it. So last year I decided to take the plunge and I went camping with some of my friends. I have to admit, I was hooked after the first night. I think the key was using the correct equipment. After my first camping trip, I decided to make the investment and buy a tent, sleeping bag and all of the other amenities. To save you some time, I have written down some tips that helped me buy my first camping tent.

The first step begins with determining the size tent you will need. When you start shopping for your tent you will see that tents are categorized by their capacity. For example, you will see two-person, three-person or four-person tents. One footnote is that you will want to buy a tent that is a little bit larger than your need. For example, if you are only looking for a two-person tent, you might want to consider a three-person or four-person tent. A two person tent will fit a maximum of two people and not much else. If you get a three-person or four-person tent you will have room for some of your gear as well. Now you might say why don’t I get a six person tent and have plenty of room? The only problem here is the extra weight that comes with a larger tent. Remember, you have to pack up and carry your tent. If you are like me, I wanted to pack as light as possible so I chose a tent that was just slightly bigger than my need.

Choosing The Right Rental Car For You

If you’ve chosen to take out a rental car for your holiday, for a business trip or even just whilst your car is being repaired, the congratulations on a great decision: renting a car is an economical and effective way of getting where you need to be. However, choosing the ideal car for your needs when renting is a trickier thing to consider, that’s why we here at Rent Direct – experts in car rental Lincoln are here to help you with our tips on renting the right car for you:

Consider the amount of people that will be using it. This probably seems like a very obvious decision. However, you’d be surprised to see just how many people end up wanting to change their rental car due to it being not quite big enough! Always think about exactly how many people will be travelling in the vehicle, and choose your rental car accordingly. If you’re taking half the rugby team on a weekend’s worth of drinking and debauchery, you’re going to need a bigger vehicle than if you’re just going on a romantic getaway for two (as well as being more likely to need a bucket!)

Choosing The Right Camping Stove

There are several types of camping. Backpacking, car camping, and RV camping. Depending on the type of camping you are doing, determines the type of camping stove you will need. Outdoor camping stoves vary in size, weight, burners, and types of fuel used. Usually camping stoves that take up little room, are easy to set up, and tear down are the best. Also, the type of fuel plays an important part of selecting the right camping stove. A good camping stove should be able to support itself and the cookware placed on them with little to no chance of tipping over. The camping stove you select should be durable, reliable, easy to light, and perform well in all conditions you may encounter while camping.

Liquid-fuel stoves are generally a compact single burner stove that burns white gas, which is a form of pure gasoline that contains no additives. However, some liquid fuel stoves burn kerosene, #1 diesel, unleaded gas, and jet fuel. All these fuels burn hot which makes this stove ideal for the backpacker who camps in harsh weather conditions and high altitudes. Because none of these fuels burn clean, it is imperative that you keep the burner clean for the stove to perform as intended. Liquid fuel stoves come equipped with a separate tank for the fuel, a primer pump to create pressure in the tank, a valve to control the flow of fuel going to the stove where the gas is mixed with air so it can burn. To improve their efficiency most liquid-fuel stoves come equipped with a wind screen and to improve their stability they are equipped with wide supporting legs.
